Peggy Skemp’s Paper doll world! – Ages 7-11
Paper pals character design and improvisation:
To begin, students plan their characters and make their “paper pals”. The paper pals that Peggy teaches how to make are grommeted to create joints that fully function. We will make more than one so your child can choose to keep them to play or add a ribbon loop on the top to give away as a gift or ornament.
Then we will make clothes for our characters and students will have time to play with them together.
Twords the end of the week we will make a cardboard “dollhouse” and accessories, to complete the paper world. We will also be sure to take time and show each other and of course play!!!!
We break from 12-1 for lunch. Please send your child with a sack lunch and I will provide low sugar natural beverages such as juice and filtered water. Please refrain from packing nuts or but butter to accommodate our friends with severe allergies.
We also often take a break from the studio to catch more inspiration. This could be going for a walk or playing with chalk on the patio or going to the Hiawatha school playground to sketch and play. I ask that you send your child in “ok to get messy” clothing and send an old shirt(over sized) of mom or dads as a smock.
